The original Mongolian Beef recipe is usually made with beef steak, sweet and savoury sauce and loads of spring onions. This recipe is less saucy than my previous Mongolian Beef, but very juicy and flavourful. Serve over a bed of steamed rice, extra chopped spring onions and make it a super delicious meal!


Finely chop the garlic cloves, cut spring onions and chilli into thin slices, cut onion into small dice. Mix the ground beef with sesame oil, ginger chopped and white pepper. Marinate for 15 mins and set aside.

Heat the pan to medium high heat , drizzle two tablespoon of oil and add the chopped garlic and stir for few seconds then add the onions and stir for 1 min.Add the marinated beef and stir till the beef slightly change the colour.

Add the sauce mixture in and stir fry with medium high heat until the sauce are absorbed and beef is cooked. Add chilli slices and stir for few seconds. Turn off the heat and add the spring onion slices. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly. Make a taste test and add extra salt and pepper if needed. Serve over a cooked rice and garnish with chopped spring onions. Enjoy!

Mongolian Ground Beef Recipe
Ingredients
- ½ Onion cut small dices
- 3-4 cloves Garlic finely chopped
- 5-6 Spring onions cut thin slices
- 300 g Ground beef (beef mince) lean cut or less in fat
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 Red Chilli optional
Beef marinade
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 tsp Ginger paste finely grated ginger
- ¼ tsp White/black pepper
Stir Fry Sauce
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
- 1 tsp Dark soy sauce
- ¼ cup Chicken stock/broth
- ½ tsp Corn/potato starch(flour)
Instructions
