Bake the chips in oven, air-fry or deep fry according to packet instructions, until crispy golden. Or you can also add homemade potato chips.
Add all the spice ingredients in a small bowl, mix well and set it aside.
Heat the large wok or pan into medium heat. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of oil and saute the onion for few seconds.
Follow with the garlic saute for another 1 minute, then add the dried red chilli flakes.
Stir in the bell pepper slices then place the fried chips and sprinkle with the seasoning masala spice mixture. Toss well to combine everything evenly.
Turn off the heat and sprinkle chopped coriander and chilli slices. Transfer to serving plate and serve immediately while hot.
- Chips- We usually use frozen oven chips for this recipe. Feel free to use any of your favourite fresh chips, frozen chips or fries for this recipe.
- Curry powder - You can try with Chaat masala, Madras curry powder or garam masala. Adjust the masala mild or hot according to your preference. I used hot curry powder in this recipe.
- Chicken powder - Add chicken powder for extra umami flavour but it's totally optional. You can omit it or swap it with caster sugar or msg.
- Oil - Use neutral flavour vegetable oil for deep frying the chips or bake in the oven by spraying a bit of cooking oil.
- Servings - You can serve up to 4 people as an appetizer.
